LOreal Magic Lumi Concealer 1 LOreal Magic Lumi Concealer Review, Swatches, Photos
L’Oreal has a brand new click pen concealer they released with their Magic Lumi Collection. I love click pens they just make application super easy and they are oh so portable for touch ups on the go. I know some folks feel they are breeding ground for bacteria particularly lipglosses in this style packaging but I can’t help but love how simple and easy to use they are.
I’m a concealer junkie, I mean, I probably have more concealers than I do eyeshadows (slight exaggeration for dramatic purposes) so I was all about checking this out but was a little wary since the Magic Lumi Collection is all about highlighting and illuminating. In most cases, concealers that are meant to illuminate end up looking crazy shimmery and adding shimmer under aging eyes, not a good idea peeps.
Let’s take a look and see if L’Oreal Magic Lumi Concealer is worth a go.
This one comes in three limited shades of light, fair, and medium. It kinda a majority of skin tones off the list here and ranges in the fair, pale, to medium range so if you’re olive or darker or even medium for that matter you might find these shades are an ickle to light for your liking. I hauled the middle shade which was light and sadly it was a no go as it had pink undertones that simply didn’t work well with my medium fair skin. The shade fell in the realms of porcelain.
Now outside of the poor shade selection the product itself isn’t quite a concealer. Thankfully there isn’t any shimmer, sparkle, or illumination to worry about here but the formula is sheerer so it lightens and brightens areas up on your face such as under your eyes but doesn’t technically conceal major problems.
You can use it down the sides of your nose, under your eyes, and on other “shadowy” areas to brighten the areas up and to some extent I will say it did a fairly good job of brightening up my eyes (although it proved a little TOO light for me to comfortably to walk out with) it doesn’t technically conceal darker circles, baggage, etc…it does ease the appearance of finer lines which is a plus.

The formula runs on the thinner side and has a bit of a watery texture that blends easily and doesn’t dry my eyes out in the least. It’s not hydrating or super moisturizing but it isn’t drying either which is a bonus.
Overall, it really wasn’t something I enjoyed. The color proved wrong for me and the sheerness of the product was disappointing. I do think a fairer skin tone will actually benefit from use with this and feel it brightens up tired eyes quite nicely. Also, if you happen to be a wizard at highlighting areas on your face this pen does the trick. Just don’t go into a purchase believing that this will be a full on concealer that offers coverage for darker circles and baggage as that it does not do.
Available now at drugstores.
